Why CarbonTrace™ Exists

Most carbon accounting platforms are built for large corporations with dedicated sustainability teams, enterprise budgets, and external consultants. For the service companies that make up the backbone of the global economy — pest management, facilities, hospitality — the tools have simply not existed.

CarbonTrace™ was built to change that. A free, ISO 14064-1:2018 aligned GHG inventory platform that any organisation can use, regardless of size, budget, or technical expertise. Built from inside the industry, not outside it.

The Person Behind the Platform

CarbonTrace™ was founded by Sathes Chandran — a pest management professional, sustainability advocate, and active contributor to global industry policy.

Sathes serves on the Board of the Global Pest Management Coalition (GPMC) — the international body representing pest management associations and organisations across more than 50 countries — and on the Executive Committee of FAOPMA, the Federation of Asian and Oceania Pest Managers Associations, where he chairs the Training and Sustainability Committee.

He has spoken on sustainability, carbon neutrality, and responsible pest management at international conferences and industry forums, and has contributed to global publications and policy discussions on the role of the pest management industry in the transition to a lower-carbon economy.

CarbonTrace™ grew from a consistent observation across those conversations: the intent to act on sustainability was present across the industry, but the tools were not. Building a platform that removed the cost and complexity barrier was not just a product decision — it was the natural next step from years of advocating for sustainability as an operational discipline rather than a marketing claim.

"The intent to act on sustainability has always been there across our industry. The barrier has been access. CarbonTrace™ removes that barrier."

Industry Collaboration

CarbonTrace™ is being developed in close collaboration with leading international industry bodies to make credible carbon accounting accessible to pest management and service companies globally.

The platform is designed to support member associations in offering their members a practical, ISO-aligned sustainability tool that meets the growing demands of carbon reporting without the cost or complexity of existing enterprise platforms.

CarbonTrace™ is also in active discussion with accredited verification bodies to establish a third-party verification pathway for organisations that wish to have their GHG inventories independently verified to ISO 14064-3 standards.

Third-Party Verification

CarbonTrace™ is built for audit readiness from day one. Every entry is server-timestamped, session-tracked, and stored with a complete field-level audit trail. Source documents can be attached to each entry.

Organisations that wish to have their GHG inventory independently verified can do so through accredited ISO 14064-3 verification bodies. CarbonTrace™'s dedicated auditor access role allows any external verifier to log in securely with read-only access to the full inventory, audit trail, and source documentation — and download a complete verification package in a single click.

A preferred verification partner programme is in development. Details will be announced when confirmed.

Built on Recognised Standards

Every calculation in CarbonTrace™ is traceable to a recognised international primary source. No proprietary values. No estimated factors. Every methodology is documented, referenced, and available for independent review.
